The past two days have been wonderful and relaxing to an extent. Atleast, very little studying was involved. However, I did happen to pull out the research manuscript last night and make some revisions but other than that zilch, as far as schoolwork goes. Instead, I was able to take a couple of really long bike rides down the numerous trails located in my city. In several spots along the trail, there were honeysuckle growing among the bushes and fence lines. The smell was sweet and delicious to my nose. It reminded me of a verse in the Bible, and I had to wonder if my life has been speading the sweet aroma of Christ lately or has that aroma been overcome by the stench of sin that I so easily fall into? 2 Corinthians 2:14-16 "But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him. For we are to God the aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing. To the one we are the smell of death; to the other, the fragrance of life." Somehow even in the midst of my stinking sin, Christ has overcome that stinch and has become the sweet aroma of my life. This became evident a few days ago when I gave testimony to a friend about a great work God has done in my life. This friend is not saved and when I told her about what God has been doing in my life she immediately realized the contrast between my life and hers. She realized that what she is living for are worth nothing and that she is living apart from God, even though he is right there waiting for her to come to him everyday. I pray that what she smelled was the fragrance of the life that she could have in Christ if she would only confess and believe.

Since you know one thing that I haven't been doing (posting on Xanga) I guess it is about time to let you know what I have been doing. There is not much to tell but I wanted to share about the most recent discovery.

School is still in, so that takes up a lot of free time. However, since spring has come and the weather has been wonderful, I have found myself returning to the outdoors. A few weeks ago, I finally found a route that I can take on my bike. Down a side road from where I live and around a church building, there is a park. It takes me about 5 minutes to ride to the park via the back road. Then, once to the park there is a long sidewalk that goes for miles (yes, literally miles) along a creekbed. The route is shaded by large trees and many families enjoy taking their kids or walking pets along this trail. It is perfect for an attempted escape from the city. With springtime here the vegetation has a beautiful green hue. It is refreshing to ride and praise God for the beauty that he has created!

With graduation only a month away there is alot to think about in the coming months. However, God has already begun to provide for many of the unknowns. He is faithful!

God held me. He did not let me fall all the way to the bottom. This time, I heard his voice loud and clear calling me back to his wonderful leardership and protection.

Good friends are always such a blessing even if they have to tell you tough things. Tonight, I had dinner with a wonderful friend. I don't know this person very well yet, but I am encouraged by her desire to seek God with her whole life. God has totally changed her life and given her a new heart filled with desires for his service. He is doing a mighty work in her and speaking through her life into the lives of others. Praise the Lord for his marvelous love!

It's snowing tonight. I can't say that in this part of the country it is unusual for it to be in the 70s and 80s and then in the next 24 hours to drop to freezing with frozen rain or snow precipitation. Guess I need to go and turn on the heart. I thought we were through with it til next year. So much for trying to save on the electric bill tonight unless I want to freeze. Atleast, I have a heater to turn on. Praise God!

Got to debrief myself on the day before going to bed and get ready for another day.

Last night, I laughed so hard that my sides began to hurt and could barely breathe. A friend and I were up on campus late last night studying. Sunday is one of those days to avoid the library because it seems like everyone decides to study that night. Therefore, we found another building to hide away in for a few hours away from the crowds inside a lounge room. About 11 p.m. some guy walked in to get a drink from the coke machine. Lindsey and I had been conversing about something when I heard the man at the machine behind me say something. I thought he was talking to us, and I turned around to ask him what he needed. When I turned around to look at him, he had made fists with his hands and was angrily shaking them at the machine saying that it had eaten his dollar. I asked him what he needed, but immediately realized that he had not spoken to either Lindsey or me. He quickly slid his card through the machine again and this time a drink fell out of the machine. I consoled him saying that two drink should have fallen out for the dollar that he had lost. He agreed and politely informed me that only one had come out. He walked away, and as he passed our table, he apologized for his behavior. As soon as he left the room, Lindsey cracked up laughing. Apparently, I had not heard what he had said when I thought he was speaking to us. Lindsey heard him cussing and was amazed when I turned around to speak to him. The man was embarrased by his behavior and language and I innocently caused him the needed shame. We laughed for a while and then had to get back to studying.

The cool, fresh air of this morning hit me and my heart was glad. Usually, I am not a fan of cold weather, but today was different. For some reason I found great joy in the early morning coolness as I was walking my sister's dog. Immediately my mind turned to the Lord and praised Him. How great is our God! His creation does reveal His glory!

How Great Thou Art!

O Lord my God, when I in awesome wonder
Consider all the works Thy hands have made,
I see the stars, I hear the rolling/mighty thunder,
Thy pow'r thru-out the universe displayed!

Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee:
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!
Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee:
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!

When thru the woods and forest glades I wander
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees,
When I look down from lofty mountain grandeur
And hear the brook and feel the gentle breeze,

And when I think that God, His Son not sparing,
Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in
That on the cross, my burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin!

When Christ shall come with shout of acclamation
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart!
Then I shall bow in humble adoration
And there proclaim, my God, how great Thou art!

~Mr. Carl Gustaf Boberg (1859-1940)

How Great is Our God

The splendor of a King, clothed in majesty
Let all the earth rejoice
All the earth rejoice

He wraps himself in Light, and darkness tries to hide
And trembles at His voice
Trembles at His voice

How great is our God, sing with me
How great is our God, and all will see
How great, how great is our God

Age to age He stands
And time is in His hands
Beginning and the end
Beginning and the end

The Godhead Three in One
Father Spirit Son
The Lion and the Lamb
The Lion and the Lamb

How great is our God, sing with me
How great is our God, and all will see
How great, how great is our God

Name above all names
Worthy of all praise
My heart will sing
How great is our God

Name above all names
Worthy of all praise
My heart will sing
How great is our God

How great is our God, sing with me
How great is our God, and all will see
How great, how great is our God

~Chris Tomlin
